Dr. Bittar completed a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology with Honors at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. She went on to earn a Doctorate’s Degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, achieving many scholarships for her Academic excellence, including the JT Tai Scholar. Dr. Bittar completed a comprehensive three year surgical residency in Foot & Ankle Trauma/Reconstructive surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. During her residency, Dr. Bittar has experienced training in a particularly diverse population, which helped her develop the skills and knowledge to treat a wide variety of foot and ankle problems, both surgically and conservatively. She has a special interest in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic foot care, sports medicine and trauma. She also participated in several advanced courses in foot and ankle arthroscopy, internal & external fixation and minimally invasive surgery techniques. Her passion for helping people has led her the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Honduras, where she used her expertise to treat patients with severely neglected foot deformities. Dr. Bittar is dedicated to treat her patients with exceptional care and compassion. When she is not at the office or Hospital, she enjoys visiting her family back home in Canada, cooking, and mountain biking with her husband. Dr. Ashley Bittar is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
